Reflection.

Truth be told, I enjoyed this quarter.

It was very fun learning the HTML and its parts. I got so involved with it that every time the bell for second period rings, I gather my things so easily wanting to go to the computer room as fast as I can. I can't help but to get excited with all the new lessons about the HTML. This isn't a lie. Nope. I really did enjoy this quarter because of the extraordinary lessons.

Like when they told me that we'd have a project by making a front page using the HTML, I volunteered to do the work. At first I invited my group mates to come because I was quite unsure of how to do that but then they were just like slacking around and eating everything in my house, doing nothing so the other day, I didn't invite them and just did the work. I made my first front page for only six hours. It was quite hard but easy because I know HTML since I was in Grade five. Thanks God and Ma'am Eve because I was able to do it successfully. As far as I can remember, I was so happy when I finally finished it. :)

Third quarter? I don't like it. I love it. :P

New Year, New Me.

Happy New Year!
It feels so not true. It's feels so surreal. It’s like just another day again, but no! It's January 2012 already. The clock’s running so fast it makes me want to scream at it and say stop.
2011 went really fast. I’ll leave the bad vibes behind and make a fresh start today. It's new year, I'll probably change for the better. But I won't go on posting New Year's Resolution or such. I don't actually believe in it. It's just that, many people tend to promise but then after two months or more, they'll possibly forget what they promised and hoped for. Promising isn't just my thing. :)
What more can I say but this? 2012, surprise me. Be the best. *cross fingers*
Let’s smile. Awesome adventures awaits us. :)

“Iloko Dialect: The Ilocano’s Pride”

“Asino kadi ti maidayaw nu di ket ti Ilokano met lang nu ipukkaw tayo nga Ilokano tayo? Asinu kadi ti haan nga maidayaw nu di ket bagbagi tay met lang nu ibain tayo ti Iloko?"

We have been taught how to speak Tagalog and English in order to communicate with other people. But this doesn’t mean that we can forget already the dialect which has been passed by the men who have once inhibited the vicinity we are in today.

In every province, they have their own dialect which is their medium when they speak to anybody. We communicate everyday using Iloko. Because of this, we are able to survive from everyday hardship because we can get what we need if we use this dialect. But because of the economy progress, people tend to forget where they have been and what they had used in order to get there. People adopt to change that easy, and that is one of the reasons why the Iloko dialect is being forgotten. We must not be naïve and that gullible to be driven away from the truth that we are Ilocanos ready to serve our province. True enough, we must step forward but in that step, we must bring with us the whole things which have been an important item in our life.

Before knowing how to talk to people from afar, let us learn first how to talk to people who are near. Iloko first, before others.

Everyday is Christmas day. :)

“We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!” Christmas is one of the most awaited holidays in Earth’s time. It is the day wherein our Savior Jesus Christ was born in the manger. It was the day wherein Earth has been finally given the chance to be filled with peace, joy and love.

Now, do we still see the true essence of Christmas? Or is it now fully forgotten? Let me have the chance to make you remember what Christmas really is.

It’s all about sharing, helping and giving. We share our blessings to those who are in need. We give toys to the children who need company. We help the indigents and less fortunate by giving them clothes, food and money. Christmas is about forgiving. It’s high time to forgive and forget the miserable things people had done to us. Remember, Christ came to our world to forgive us, what then can a human do but to follow His example?

And lastly, Christmas is about love. Sometimes, there has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we’re here for something else besides ourselves. We are here in this world because of GOD and people behind us. Let’s give them enough love for the love they have given to us the whole time.

These essences must be done by everybody first before feeling the joy and pleasure that will last in our mind.

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities (excerpt from --)

The Declaration of Independence claims that all men are created equal. This idealistic statement has some flaws attached. Would a perfect world have all people equal in every aspect of life?

Equality or equal society implies that everyone enjoys the same rights. Everyone is bound by the same laws, has access to the same health care and education, and equal opportunity to employment. Given the diversity in position, social status and economic status in our society, true equality can be difficult to achieve.

Depending on our age, we all have specific laws we need to follow. Some would argue that equality is not as clearly defined within our justice system. Whether we like to admit it or not, we all have our own personal biases. A jury is instructed to only take the facts of the evidence into consideration. However, is this always the case, or are there flaws in this system? Certainly, I feel that it is the best we can offer, but I am not convinced that it demonstrates true equality.

We are very fortunate to have access to health care which is subsidized by our government. We all benefit greatly from this program, which I feel to be an example of equality in our country.

When the issue of equal opportunity is raised, not everyone will be in agreement. We are all entitled to free education through our public school system; however, not all have the luxury of being able to afford post secondary studies. Without a college or university degree, people are less likely to secure a high-paying job. This leads to inequality. Another weakness worth mentioning again is our bias. In the case of two candidates applying for the same position, holding the same qualifications, one could easily be chosen over due to personal feelings of the employer.

Our society demonstrates equality among its people far better than other societies around the world. We could stand to take better care of the less fortunate. In doing so, we could possibly improve equal rights and equal opportunities, particularly with employment. True equality, however, is an idealistic notion.

Selfishness and Carelessness: Two Characteristics to Destruction

It is clear in the Bible that we are here in Earth to be stewards of what is present in this land. But nowadays, people, instead of being care takers, are the one who do the destruction of the living things that is present in our surrounding. This unusual happening happens to be a warning that might lead to the ascension of death toll. Natural calamities are arising a percent to ten because of our selfishness and carelessness. The duo of the said characteristics is the top reason why we are suffering and facing death at an instant. One example of these natural phenomena is the ever-tackled climate change.
We happen to feel the scorching heat of the sun every now and then. It feels like the sun’s rays go through the skin and eat up all the living cells in the body because of its heat. What we don’t know is that this is the result of our own wrong deeds, the result of climate change. Global warming is the hottest theme in the science world. Everybody’s in hype to deal with it, and everybody’s resulting to new inventions and innovations just to prove that humanity can help re-build the lost and repair the damaged. However, as the number of people who are making the dream come true increases, so is the number of people making the nightmare come true. This is because of the lack of unity around the globe. As we tend to go on further, let me explain first why we experience this sudden climate change in our environment.
People do stuff that are hazardous to the people themselves and to the surroundings. One of these is by burning plastic materials. This is very perilous. The gas that is being emitted by the plastic, which is known as the Carbon Dioxide, is the very cause on why the ozone layer is being wreck. The ozone layer is our savior from the blazing heat of the sun. If destroyed wholly, then humanity can’t live nor the animals nor plants because of too much heat and the effects it might give.
At the end, everybody and everything will die, all because of our selfishness and carelessness to improve, protect and upgrade our world. This is a threat to humanity. Everybody must help in protecting Mother Earth against the villains. There must be unity in order for an organized world to reign. We can start by leading our fellow youth in doing outreach programs that can help maintain the beauty of Earth. We can also plant trees. In this way, we can rehabilitate the lost image of a true paradise.
We were appointed by God to become stewards and stewardess to Earth. Let us not fail Him but rather do our best in maintaining and restoring the creations He once created and still loves.

What difference can YOU make?

I have one mind, but I got a lot of differences that I’m making throughout my life. I’ve been through pros and cons of life that I’ve merely seen thousands of problems yet I’ve been a thousand and one out of them. By being alive, anybody can make a difference. So, what difference can I make?
By being a leader, I can make true difference in my vicinity. I can be a big help. With my knowledge in serving people, I can make a progress just by leading and doing my best in order to provide them proper service. I can make a difference by leading programs that can be super beneficial to everybody from now until to the future.
By being a friend, I can make a difference. Just by being beside my weary friend who is carrying a heavy burden will make her smile. I can make a difference by shining when my friends’ lights are out. I can be their knight in shining armor to help them in need. Simply, I’ll be their happiness. You can say that it’s a small thing to do, but that is the best way to make a difference by being a friend.
By being a student, I can make a difference. I can study then help my community in the future. Like now, I can give fresh ideas that can enlighten everybody. I can make a difference by creating innovations, discover or even invent something that will be of great aid to everybody.
By being a child of God, I can make a big difference. My God is the provider of all things. I can make a difference by telling other people my God’s greatness and majesty. In that way, everybody will know His majestic grandeur and everybody will love Him just the way He loves us.
By being a daughter and a sister, I can make a difference. My parents are my pillars, and my brothers are my stones. They help me convey my feelings and my hearty gratitude to them. I can make a difference by making them feel loved and proud. In that way, I can repay their greatness to me.
By being a creation of God, we can all make a difference. Just by performing good actions and having good characteristics and values, we can help make a difference. So, in what way can you make a difference?
